PROGRESS ON THE KIRKFIELD TRACK. "The Kirkfield track at St. Charles, seven miles west of Winnipeg, which was left partly unfinished when frost closed operations, will probably be rushed to completion as early in the spring as operations can be resumed," says a Winnipeg dispatch. "The Mackenzie private stable is now almost completed, and presents a fine appearance, being over 2S0 feet In length, with thirty box stalls, and sonic eight or ten saddle rooms in the center. The jockeys lounging room extends forward of the main building, while over it is a twenty-five by twenty-five foot observatory, giving a full view of the track. Still further behind are the caretakers quarters. The whole Is in the mission style of architecture, with a five-foot projecting roof all round. McLeod and McLeau are the contractors. The track building has been under the supervision of an expert from Boston; Mass. The grandstand and additional stabling, also, probably, a hotel, will be placed before the opening day, which it is. intended will be May 24."
