SYSONBY GETS A GALLOP. "Trainer ltowe is evidently planning an early beginning for Sysonby, as the great horse received a gallop under saddle at the Sheepshead Bay yearling track Thursday," says the New York Sun. "Sysonby has wintered well and appears to be in robust health. He is 400 jwunds heavier than when he went into retirement last fall. If the weather and track remain favorable it is just possible that ltowe will prepare Sysonby for the Metropolitan Handicap at. Belmont Park the first week in May. The Melton colt ran a dead heat with Race King in this event last year, the performance doing him a world of good. Incidentally It showed that he is an early horse, and for that reason trainer Howe evidently belives that the colt should not be held back in his training. Many other horses were out at Gravesend indulging in jogging exercise, and the trainers were so enthusiastic that most of them will have horses ready for hard races when the Benniugs meeting opens next month."
