NOT THE RAKE, SAYS BRIEN. Hot Springs, Ark.. March S. "Counselor Bill" Rrien today took a look at the horse brought here by A; J. Poindexter and registered under the name of "Tlie Rake." Brien bought the original The Rake,, from J. O. Keene. "That Is not The Rake," said he. "The Rake had a snip on the nose and was blind in the left eye.," Brien says The Rake was stolen from his barn at Memphis two years ago and that he has never been aide to locate him. It is claimed by work watchers here that this horse can run a mile better than 1:40 any day. Judge Frank Bryan says he is now satisfied, that Poindexter was not alone in an ittempt to put through a job of "ringing" at Oaklawn. lie claims that certain people in Chicago were the prime movers in the scheme.
