Master Prim forced, the early pace, but was given a rough ride, interfered sharply with Water Mirror in .the last seventy yards and nearly ttirew him over the fence, for which he"was disqualified. Lucullus showed improved form, closed a big gap from a poor beginning and finished fast. Charley Thompson ran well and had a rough trip throughout. Water Mirror also showed improved form and speed, but was beaten at the time of the interference. Mayor Johnson lost much ground all the way and ran much below his best form. Wing Ting got away well, but ran sluggishly in the first part of the race and had to be hard ridden, tried to rnn out at the stretch entry, but rallied quickly and came away fast in the final drive. Rifleman, hustled from the start, finished fast, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Mike Sutton began in a tangle, but saved ground when turning into the stretch and ran a good race. Gonvolo, well handled and clear of interference, ran forwardly for the entire trip, wore down Haughty in the last furlong and had enough in reserve to stall off Pontotoc. The latter was pinched oft at the start, was kept in close quarters for the first half, but came fast with clear sailing and was probably best. Hanghtv showed tine speed and lasted well in the final drive. Cutter was badly handled and takeii wide throughout, losing much ground and ran below her true form. Governor Orman had several lengths advantage at the start and showed fine speed for the first half, hut quit badly in the last furlong. Mary Welch broke in a tangle and was badly ontpaced for the first quarter, but made up ground amazin"ly fast in the last furlong and won in the last two strides. Margaret Morris unseated Radtke in a false breakawav and cantered nearly a half mile at good speed before being caught, showed fine speed in the race anil seemed a certain winner in the last furlong, but Radtke took matters easy and was unprepared for the winners rush. AAllcox ran well to the stretch, but tired in the final drive. Aladay acted fractiously on the way to the post and ran 011 the outside for the entire trip, losing much ground and tirin" near the .end. Miss Klngcette ran fairly well.
