Paul Jones went wide on tlie turns, was kept too long out of the running and, when coming through on the inside, was forced to pull up. losing a half dozen lengths. Kernel trailed far in the rear for three-quarters of the journey and got up for an easy third. Fallaheen is very fast and a brilliant fencer, but a pronounced non-stayer. Water Pearl essayed to force the pace, hut was unable to get away from Rallot at any part of the journey and, when straightened for home, succumhed with unexpected readiness. Ethon, evidently a good one, was right up to the leaders throughout and ran a grand race. Bat Masterson was always outpaced and also failed to stay. W. II. Daniel was far outclassed. Won driving; second easily. Go Between, from a good start, was skillfully placed and unexpectedly well up in the early running, moved up rapidly on the far turn, ran around the others and hooked up with Dandelion and heat him home in a terrific drive, boring over and impeding him all through the last sixteenth. Dandelion, away striding, was placed in a elose second place pulling hard and was literally choked to a standstill and never let go until in the last furlong and then was unable to cope successful- with such a redoubtable stretch runner as Co Between under a very badly judged ride. Colonial Girl got away slowly, but steadily improved her position, got into forward contention on the far turn and finished, with a brilliant rush. Agile, nearly left, closed an immense gap and ran a surprising race. Tokalon, practically left, made up twenty lengths on the leaders and ran a wonderful race. Proper, another sufferer at the start, closed an enormous gap. Dolly Spanker ran forwardly for a mile and retired. Kuroki, shuttled to the rear early, came again in the last half and is a good colt. Cairngorm failed to stay after running well up and being luckily placed throughout. Astronomer warmed up sore and quit. Oxford tired after going seven furlongs. Scratched 02958 Oliver Cromwell. 08. Punky also finished elose up and going well. Smiling Tom showed good early speed. Alpenmarchen, nearly left, closed a big gap. Rufus tired after early prominence and was pulled up. Benevolent raced quickly into the lead and maintained a comfortable advantage over his nearest attendant throughout. Prince Frederick, from a good inside position and away striding, held second position safe until right at the end, where he was nearly caught by Lancastrian. The latter, on the outside and nearly left, closed an immense gap, taking the extreme outside all the way, where he finished with a cyclonic burst of speed. Klingsor worked through a rough journey at the middle half and loomed up well in the stretch, but tired right at the end. Sir Russell displayed unexpectedly good form on the grass course.
