Joe Levy, showing suddenly Improved form, was much the best in the going, was far back in the early stages, but moved into the lead in the stretch with a rush and won hard held. Kings Guinea was in forward contention all the way and easily held second place safe. Marimbo was driven to the limit at the end to lieat out Ilttkln. The "latter lint shed gamely. Little Rose tired. Voting broke in.front and, spreadeagllng his opponents before a quarter bad been covered, was never in trouble. Wabash Queen was saved from the early pace and, coming fast in the stretch, caught the others tiring and secured second money easily. Merry Leap Year got closer to the leaders than the chart shows, but fell back quickly near the finish. French Empress, practically left, made up much ground and finished gamely. Attila trailed his opponents early and then, moving up by easy stages, joined the leaders after being straightened out in the stretch and, wearing down Willowdene in the final sixteenth, was drawing clear at the end. Wll-lowdene, suddenly improved, ran a fine race and withstood two successive challenges, but had to succumb to the winner. Little Mike was hard ridden, but could never get to the front. Edwin Gum raced right behind La Gloria to the sixteenth post, when he drew away and won without trouble La Gloria was speedy and forced the running and had but little left when challenged. Sultry was saved from the early pace and finished fast. Fargo showed early speed, but was not up to a hard race. Skeptical 1 ran as if she did not like the going. Winchester stuck to the pacemaker all the way, but was doing his best at the end to save second place. John Garner closed a hi"-gap and outgamed Bery Waddell for third money.
