Won easily, second the same. Zinda, showing sudden improvement and a liking for the sloppy going, wore down the leaders in the stretch and won going away with plenty in reserve. Hilona, after saving ground on all turns, finished going fast under punishment and also showed improved form. Lady March came from a long way back in the stretch and outgamed Yo San in the closing strides. The latter was excessively used in the early stages and Preston took her out and in again in an effort to impede Zinda and Hilona in the stretch. Tsara tired badly after going a half. Mildrene, away -badly and taken wide throughout, closed a big gap in the race through the stretch and finished with a rush. Avecdow ran in improved form and wore down the leaders after going a half and finished gamely, but tired near the end and was unlucky to lose. Webber ran a good race and had no mishaps, but tired in the final drive. Western showed a good turn of speed, but was nearly thrown when Helmutn swerved. The latter liked the going and showed early .speed, but swerved badly In the, final sixteenth. Delia D., almost left, closed a big gap and ran a winning race. Nellette ran poorly. Hubbard, much the best in the going and well ridden, followed the leaders closely for the first three-quarters, then took the lead and won cantering. Prestige ran fonvardly ail the way and stood a hard drive resolutely through the stretch. Filler closed a big gap and finished gamely. Doeskin bad to overcome a. lot of Interference and ran a good race. Invictus had a rough trip, lljgler was crowded repeatedly and finished fast. The Only Way tired after going three-quarters. Colonel Jim Douglas is an underrated horse, showed great freedom of action in the going, forced the pace from the start and, wearing Alcor down on the stretcli turn, won as his rider pleased! Alcor, speedy and lucfcy throughout, hung on gamely in the final drive and ran a good race. The Englishman finished going fast under a hard drive and was gaining at the end. Kerclieval showed improvement and but for nearlv being thrown on the first turn and suffering from interference on the backstretch would probably have won. Debar ran an excellent race and closed a big gap from a poor beginning. Dutch Barbara ran a dull race and was in the worst going all the way. Warner Griswell sulteretl from repeated interference and finished going fast and gamely. Sandcatcher came from a long wav back and showed a liking for the going. Poster also made up a lot of ground. Lansdown tired badlv after going three-quarters. Cotillion ran a fairly good race. Glassful ran a poor race.
