As long ago as 1893 Burns, then a midget of midgets, was riding at St. Louis under the tutelage of Tom Hums and David Waldo and since then he has been actively in the saddle east, west and south. In 1898 and 1S99 lie earned the proud position of leading jockey of the United States ,ih liiimtiCT of winning mounts and has ranked among.. the leading riders of the country for ten years past. Having been a successful rider in tills country there Is no Teasori why he should not do as well across the Mater as have Taral, Ranch, OConnor, Turner.
