Dr. Hart fully ran his race and finished fast. Inll.immahie also ran a good race and had no mishaps. Morendo closed a big gap and was going fast at the end. St. Denis ran a fairly good race only and was taken wide all the way. Frivol tired badly after going three-quarters. The Laurel quit badly after going a half. Scratched 03548Doeskin, 104. Colonel Jim Douglas, favored by good racing luck and given a good ride, saved much ground when turning into the stretch and, finlshnig fast, got up in the final strides. Funiculalre, away In a. tangle, wa badly outrun for the first half, but saved ground when coming Into the stretch and seemed a certain winner lit the final sixteenth, but Austin eased him up slightly, which cost him the race. Lady Esther followed Nonie Lucille to the stretch turn, where Ileffernan. on the latter, forced her almost to the outside fence, then she came fast when straightened out again, but was sharply bumptl into by Colonel Jim Douglas twenty yards from the finish and, with clear sailing, would have won. Meailowbreeze, favored throughout, ran a good race. Nonie Lucille showed a high flight of speed and would have been close up but for HefTernans rough tactics. Agnes Alrglnla Avas shuttled back soon after the start and closed a gap. but tired at the end. Bensonhurst and Alum tired badly after going a halt at high speed. Prince of Pless quit in the final quarter.
