NOVELIST CHURCHILL OPPOSES BETTING. Salem, X. H., July 18. Winston Churchill, the novelist, who may be a candidate for governor of Xew Hampshire, has resigned as a member of the Hoard of Governors of the New Englaud Breeders Club. In his letter of resignation he tells President Andrew Miller that he has seen it intimated that an attempt to secure legislation permitting betting is to be made and that he is not in accord with such a movement.
