JOCKEY BILAC IS INJURED AT FORT .ERIE. Saladin Falls With Him Peter Sterling Sets a New Track Record in Handicap. - Buffalo, X. Y., July IS. Three winning flrsU choices cased the temper of the talent at Fort Erie! today. A large crowd was iii attendance. Tha racing was all that could be desired, close and stirring, and the track was lightning fast.- Th handicap at a mile and an eighth was the featur of the days racing. Peter Sterling and Wexford1, both going to the post at 8 to 5, fought it out, Peter Sterling winning and breaking the track record for the distance. His l:45i was two-fifths of a second better that the lest previous time for the distauce. The running of the last race in clouds of dust furnished the excitement of the day. As the field was making the first turn Bilac, on Saladin, wns caught in a jam and they went down. The horse immediately scrambled to his feet, but after the dust cleared away, the boy was seen lying motionless on the ground. He sustained a fracture of the arm and other slight injuries.
