CHANGE OF FORTUNE FOR UNLUCKY HORSE. First Mason was a singularly unlucky horse last year. Good enough to run third in the Suburban and frequently placed In the best of company, he was unable to land a single- race in the course of his campaign over the New York tracks. His victory iu the Thistle Stakes and his splendid performance in the Brighton Handicap seem to Indicate that McChesneys good half brother is viewed more kindly by Dame Fortune this year. He is a very fast and game horse and judged by his performance in the Brighton .was never better than, he Is now. He has good engagements at Saratsga, but only has one remaining stake nomluatlon at Brighton Beach. This is in the Nautilus Selling Stakes, at a mile and a sixteenth, which will be run July 31, and for, which a number of excellent racehorses have been nominated.
