WESTERN SUCCESS ALARMS EASTERNERS. Xew York, July is! The public has been winning at Brighton and bookmakers are dropping by the wayside each day. The back line has shrivelled to one-third of its original strength. Some of the big fellows are getting ready to lay off. The success of the western Invaders Is beginning to excite much alarmed comment hereabouts. As one Broadway provincial puts it: "Here is Sir Huon running off with the 5,000 Commonwealth Handicap and the rich Seagate Stakes; Rains Horn, First Mason and Tokalou dividing the 5,000 Brighton Handicap between them, after taking into camp all the eastern stars; Tokalon accounting for the 0,000 Brooklyn Handicap and other stakes and purses lcing turned almost daily to the visitors. And there is Barney Schreibcr, with his grout and numerous stable, yet to be heard from. The total will be very large by the time November rolls around."
