Bottles began slowly, but moved up rapidly under strong urging and, wearing down Handspike, in the final furlong, won drawing away. Handspike showed the most speed for the first five furlongs and lasted well in the final drive. Elected ran a poor race and lacked early speed, tiring badly after going a half. Liphardt was gaining and going fast near the end. Jack OMalley closed a gap and finished fast. Toll-gatherer was in a contending position when he ran out on the stretch turn. Glassfull, well ridden, followed Albert Fir closely for the first seven furlongs, wore him down in the stretch and won going away. Albert Fir, showing sudden and great improvement and much speed, was a Jast and game contender throughout, tiring slightly in the final sixteenth. The Gadfly saved ground or. the stretch turn and, finishing gamely, was going fast at the end. Oddoletta, poorly handled, was in close quarters during the early running and was taken wide after going a half and tired in the final drive. Labor seemingly was boring out for the first three-quarters and finished gamely. The Laurel bad scant chance with an incompetent rider. Sister Frances had to be hard ridden In the early stages to keep up with the leader, but steadily wore the latter down and won going away. Meadowbreeze, showing steadily improved form, displaved the most early speed and stayed well in the final drive, but was not good enough to beat the winnerl Dr. Turner came with a rush through the stretch and finished going fast. El Otroa was always outrun. La Pucelle tired badly after going five furlongs and can do much better. Scratched C3750 Lady Esther. 93. Subador fenced well and led to the final jump in the field, where he tired. Modredlaw could not keep up through the field and tired badly in the final drive. C.harawind was going well and moving into the lead, when he broke down two Jumps from home. Snowdrift ran out while In a contending position and is an uncertain racing proposition. Mayor Johnson, hard ridden all the way, ran a good race and finished gamely. Sand Bath, also showing Improved form, was a forward contender all the way, only tiring in the final strides. Daring ran poorly and closed up but a small gap under a hard ride. Tom Crowe ran a fairly good race. Lightburn showed early speed. Dresden set a fast pace in the early stages, but tired slightly near the end. Larone, away In a tangle and suffering from much interference, finished with a rush when clear and was best. Red Thistle ran a good race, tiring in the final drive and will improve. Harlequin was well up In the early stages. Moccaaln Maid was poorly ridden and had scant chance. Stella Elchburg was badly ridden and was responsible for the interference with Larone. Belltoone quit badly after going a half. Scratched 63S47 Fargo, 108; 63528 Oak Grove, 99. Banposal, away forwardly, followed Mill Song closely to the last furlong, where she came away and won under a mild drive. Mill Song beat the barrier many lengths and showed the most early speed, but fired slightly in the final drive. Lady Charade, much the best, was held by an assistant at the post, Stroke in a tangie and suffered from much interference throughout, hut finished fast and would have won off by herself with any kind of racing luck. Oberon, badly ridden, bumped into Lady Charade on the lower turn and forced Morris to pull back. Sea Mate tired badly. Queen Caroline ran a bad race and was given a poor ride.
