LOUISVILLE DATE CONFERENCE TODAY. Cincinnati, O., July 31. John. Hachmeister said today that the Douglas Park management would make application to the Kentucky State Racing Commission for dates beginning September 1 and race for the two weeks before thp opening of the state fair, when racing will cease for that week. Matt J. Winn, manager of Churchill Downs, was not here, today, but will arrive tomorrow, when, it is said, an agreement will be reached as to the period of racing in Louisville and the division of the dates. "The report that Douglas Park .will race for forty days continuously this fall is false," said Secretary Hachmeister. "Conditions are such at present "that we wlU probably be forced to tun longer than we desire, but It will not be forty days." Colonel W. E. Applegate also voiced the belief that there will not be any difficulty In adjusting matters amicably at Louisville by saying: "We are willing to do anything that is fair and I have no doubt that the other side is of the same mind."
