MANZAN0 IS DISQUALIFIED FOR FOUL. Buffalo, N. Y., July 31. In the steeplechase handicap over the short course at Fort Erie today, Mauzano passed the judges first, but was disqualified for running out of the course and fouling Lulu Young in the stretch. The judges did not even hang his number up. Lulu Young was placed first, Gypsano second and Dawson third. Gullstan pulled up after the eleventh jump and came home lame. The handicap for two-year-olds was the most spirited race of the day. My Bessie and Bathmaria, coupled as an entry, were made the choice in the betting and Reside was next in favor. At the rise of the barrier. Voting and Timothy Wen attempted to make a runaway race of it. After setting a terrific pace for a half mile both fell back hopelessly beaten. Reside, My Bessie and Bathmaria made a stretch battle of It, Reside getting the verdict by the shortest of heads with My Bessie i second and her stable companion, Bathmaria, a half length away.
