Bitter Miss, running to her best form and given a good ride, was a forward contender from the start, wore down the leaders when straightened out for the stretcli run and won drawing clear. Webber finished going fast. from a poor beginning after saving ground when turning into the stretch. Lightning Conductor tired after showing the most early speed. Bonart ran a fairly good race, tiring in the final drive. Triumphant went wide most of the way and put up a good performance. Chase quit after going a half. Alta. Esterre, going wide all the way, closed a big gap and, finishing with a rush under poor handling, would have won in another stride. Jay AVard ran a good race and was gaining steadily at the end. Fugurtha, badly ridden, had to overcome a lot of interference and was going faster than the leaders at the end. Duessa ran in Improved form and was lucky throughout. Princess Orna also interfered witli Alcor and Devout at the start and followed the early pace closely, but tired in the final drive. Devout closed a big gap in the last quarter and finished going fast. Alcor, probably best at the weights, was under hard restraint In the early stages and in several pockets, saved ground when turning into the stretcli, but was in close quarters in the final drive. Dod Anderson, away in a tangle, closed a big gap and finished going fast. Lacone broke running, but was badly outrun and tired in the last quarter.
