Won driving; second and third the same. Peter Paul was admirably handled, saved ground on the turns, set a fast pace and raced Fustian into defeat, but was tiring at the end and barely lasted. Fustian, evidently short, ran in forward contention throughout and raced Usury Into exhaustion, but tired in the stretch run. Lonpania ran a good race and had no mishaps. Salvlsa forced and set a fast pace, raced Malta into subjection in the first half, then drew away in the stretch and won with plenty in reserve. Sweet Kitty ran forwardly throughout, finished fast and easily held second place safe. French Empress began slowly, but saved grouud on the turns and finished fast. Malta was speedy, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. The others were always outrun. Thistle Do was rated in behind the pacemaker until well in the stretch, caught Dollnda on the turn and, racing it out head ard head all through the stretch, outgamed the latter In the final strides. The latter forcad a fast pace and tired in the last sixteenth, but held on resolutely. Prestige ran a good race, was a forward contender all the way and finished gamely under punishment. Lemon Girl ran well and finished close up. John Garner tired after running well to the stretch. Reticent can do much better. Minot was much the best and set a terrific pace, raced Grace Kimball into defeat in the first half, and drew away and won with plenty in reserve. Eminola was saved from the early pace and moved up resolutely after making the turn into the stretch and outgamed Reside for second place. The latter ran a good race, finished fast and had no mishaps. Grace Kimball and Hazel Patch tired badly In the last eighth after showing early speed. Scarecrow forced the pace and raced Frank Carr and The Pet into defeat in the first half, then carried Pentagon along fast to the stretch and drew away witli ease in the last sixteenth. Pentagon began slowly, but worked his way up on the Inside, finished fast and was easily best of the others today. Annie Berry had no mishaps, ran in keen contention for seven-eighths and outgamed Chamblee for third place. The latter had a rough journey. J. I. Mc refused to break. Mag Nolin ran poorly and can do better. Scratched 454464 Bugler, 102; 64472 Teddy, 102; 04300 Ancient Witch, 101. Overweights Pentagon, 3J pounds.
