RUMORED THAT COLONIAL GIRL IS SOLD. F. C, Bishop, Owner of Adam, Is Reported to Have Paid C. E. Rowe 3,500 for Her. Several days ago it was announced that C. E. Rowe had decided to retire Colonial Girl from the turf at the end of the present season and would breed her to Adam next spring it arrangements could he made with F. C. Bishop for a scaeon to his recently imported son of Flying Fox. Now it is rumored that Mr. Bishop has purchased the splendid daughter of Meddler and Springtime from Mr. Rowe and that she will be put into the Mill-streum Stud within a few weeks to become Adams mate next spring. It is reported that the price paid was 3,500. Colonial Girl is seven years old and in six years on the turf has won thirty-three races and .1,-75 in seventy-seven starts. Her best year was 1104 when she won the Worlds Fair Handicap in St. Louis, defeating Herniis, her most notable achievement. Here is a record of Colonial Girls performances: Year. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d.
