Zienap, shut off at the start, closed :i big gap and was going like a shot at the end. Oaklawn was always outrun and palpabjy sulked, but got away slowly. Monterey made up ground steadily and probably was short. Comedienne got away badly and was anchored by the stiff going. Sunglow is a good looker. Daruma showed early speed. Ethon, from a good start, was skillfully placed and under a vigorous finish was going well at the end. Arlmo set a stiff pace and held on gamely in the closing struggle. Zambesi ran lapped on the leader to the stretch, where he went very wide, losing much ground, and shows steady improvement. Bat Masterson just about held his own and failed to come on fast In the last quarter, but is improving. Kentucky Beau ran .unkindly, it appeared, and was always outpaced and wanted to run out on the turns. Throw his race out. Rio Grande is improving. Proper, from a flying start, set the pace from the start and drew away on the last turn, winning with plenty in reserve and is rounding into his best form. Good Luck was a fast going second, finishing with a belated rush and is in grand form. Neva Lee, away badly and pulled up a dozen times, pocketed and interfered with and under a choking pull for six furlongs, failed to come on when called upon in the last quarter and was beaten by a very bad ride. Dishabille has evidently trained off and was never dangerous. Coy Maid disliked the stiff going and tired after racing for a half mile with the winner. Martin Doyle maintained close pursuit of the leader to the last turn, where he dashed into the lead ou the inside and won going away. Oxford, handicapped by the going, dropped back in the early runuing and closed up witli a rush in the last quarter, but never seriously menaced the winner. Arkiirta made the early running under a pull, but when called on on the last turn, failed badly, found the journey too long and, moreover, prefers sloppy going.
