Angleta, much the best, began slowly and had to go wide all the way and, gaining steadily in the final sixteenth, barely failed to reach the leaders and was in front in another stride. Frank Bill closed a big gap in the final quarter and ran a good race. Miss Anxious tired fast after going five furlongs. Sharp Boy quit in the last quarter.
