Julia Geutz-bergcr showed brilliant speed in the early stages, where she sprinted away from the others and opened a winning lend, but was tiring in the last furlong and barely lasted long enough. Charley Ward waand on the outside until making the turn into the homestretch, where he came through fast under a drive and was wearing the winner down at the end. Eva Iser began slowly, but closed a big gap and just managed to beat Attention out in the final stride. The latter tired and can do much better. Merry George, breaking, from the extreme outside, rushed around the others in the run to the backstretch, opened a winning lead in the first quarter and held his opponents safe all the way, but was shaken up in the last sixteenth. George Perry ran in behind the leaders until well around the far turn, but lost ground when entering the homestretch, where he made a wide turn. Reuben was much used in following the fast pace set by the winner and tired in the final drive. Annie Berry was crowded, out of contention on the first turn. Gracchus showed the most speed for the first naif and set a fast pace, but tired under punishment in the last furlong. Miss Martha was always close up and made a determined effort when straightened out for the final run, but tired when it came to a hard drive. Fleeting Star ran In behind the leaders all the way and ran a dull race. Bathmaria fell at the middle of the far turn and Swain pulled Imposition up. My Bessie was much used in setting the pace and racing Rome into defeat, but was tiring at the end. Arguer began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished fast after saving ground on the turn into the homestretch. Schaller kept taking Hanoway back In the first quarter and she closed up a lot of ground in the last quarter after making a wide turn into the homestretch. Corrected weights Relna Swift, 102. George Vivian dropped far back iu the first quarter, but moved up and wore the leaders down on the far turn find, in a driving finish, outgamed Sincerity Belle. The latter ran a good race, but lost ground by going to the outside on the turn into the homestretch. Prestige was speedy, but was used up in setting the pace and racing Brookston into defeat. The latter moved up v!ien entering the homestretch and made a determined effort, but tired in the final drive. Port Royal was crowded back on the first turn.
