YEARLINGS SOLD IN -EAST AVERAGE 63.83. Total or.60,090 for 1,145 Thoroughbred Youngsters Consigned by Ninety-seven Breeders. Here and there during the nionths of October and November a few lots of -thoroughbred yearlings will be offered by auction, but the important sales of the year, those held annually during the summer and autumn meetings of the 1 Coney Island Jockey Club, are over and the general result has been indicative of a healthy demand for racing material. The sales this year in the east were conducted by the FasIg-TIpton Company exclusively and, barring the consignments disposed of on three days at Saratoga in August, they were all held at Sheeps-head Bay. The total number of yearlings sold was 1,145, about one-fifth of the entire product of the country. Thts brought an nggregate of 700,090, giving a splendid average of SGG3.S3. These yearlings were consigned by ninety-seven breeders in California, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia. The largest consignment was. of course, that of J. B. Haggin from his Kancho del Paso and Elmendorf Studs, in California and Kentucky, respectively. Those from Rancho del Paso were the last that will ever come from that famous establishment, the stud having been dispersed. -The best average was obtained by Captain W. Harry Brown for the yearlings produced at Senorita Farm, which was the prMe of the late Captain S. S. Brown and which, In all probability, will be sold this fall. For the horses bred in hit? stud at Mt. Kisco, N. Y., Elliott C. Cowdin secured an encouraging average and since Adam is to Have his future home In that neighborhood, Mt. Kisco is apt to become a more important spot in the: breeding world. Here is a list of the number soid by each breeder, the total and the average received by -each:. " Breeders. No. Sold. Total.
