Keator forged rapidly to the front and made the running throughout, nothing ever seriously menacing him. Handzarra essayed to force the pace, but was crowded back and maintained close and game, but unavailing, pursuit of the winner. Gambrinus evidently liked the going, ran forwardly from the start and finished well. Deutschland, away flatfooted, could never get up to the pacemakers and showed dislike for the going. Rusk, away very badly, moved up with a great burst of speed and then quit. Toscan ran badly. The Major looks good and will be heard from. Penrhyn showed speed, but quit. Expansionist practically set the pace throaghout and, after being headed on the flat, came again and got up .in the last stride. Yama Christy, shut off and poorly handled, trailed early, but moved up and was carried wide at the last jump, took a slight lead when a furlong out, but succumbed in the last couple of strides. Hylas, repeatedly interfered with and fencing poorly, could not quite get up, may have been short, finished easing up and looks great. Nuit Blanche was outclassed, but ran well for two miles. Russell Sage showed superior speed, but failed to stay. Scratched 04634 Brightwood, 130. Overweights Loney Haskell, 5 pounds. fA Ql O THIRD RACE About 3-4 Mile. 165 feet short. 1:0SJ 2 114. Salvidere ran lapped on Do Mund for a few strides after the start, then gradually fell behind, but maintained close pursuit of the leader to the last turn, where he moved up and passed him as if he wu1 anchored and finished out the last quarter with plenty In hand. De Mund shot into the lead and made the running, but could not get far away from Salvidere and readily succumbed to the hitters challenge on the turn, easily holding the others safe. Ballot broke slowly and was badly outrun by the first two, but outstayed Water Pearl for third place. Water Pearl ran palpably short and looked it, showed fine speed, but failed to stay. Okanite finished well through the stretch. Dinua Ken was palpably handicapped by the going. Scratched 04592 Oran, 127; 04780 Superman, 122. Overweights Dinna Ken, 1 pound.
