PERKINS BUYS NARRAGANSETT PARK. To satisfy a mortgage drawn to the favor of Fred E. Perkins for 1906.sh5,000 by the Narragansett Breeders Association, Narragansett Park aud its splendidly equipped racing plaut, was sold by auction in Providence,- It. I., Monday morning. On a single bid of 10,000 the properly was knocked down to Charles A. Stack, representing Mr. Pcrkius, who Is. iu Europe. The purchaser gets the entire park and the track, consisting of sixty-seven and one-half acres,, with buildings bat alone are worth. 00,000. iucluding the new clubhouse and stables erected by the Narragansett Breeders Association. An Immediate cash payment of ten per ceut. and the balance .on the transfer of the deeds on or before November 24 are the terms of the sale. Whether the park will be ever used for racing purposes again, or whether it will become a suburban residential site and be cut up into building lots all depends on Mr. Perkins. Ills intentions have not been made kri6wu. Mr. Perkins Is one of the stewards of the Grand Circuit of trotting meetings, but has never been actively interested iu thoroughbred racing.
