Left Guard wore down Zelinda in the stretch run and outstayed her when it came to the final drive. The latter got away well and set the pace until well inside the final furlong and was swerving at the end. Caper Sauce was pulled up at the start and went around the others on the outside and finished fast, but Foley put up a weak finish. Capercailzie finished gamely under punishment. Gold Note, away well, ran in behind Elksino until rounding the far turn, where he moved" up fast and drew away in the last sixteenth. Bool a was saved from the fast pace, for the first quarter, but her rider made the mistake of going to the outside when he made his run and she lost ground on every turn. Her race should be thrown out. Javanese ran well and outlasted Elksino under punishment. The latter showed the most early speed and tired, but held mi gamely. Miss Martha ran a dull race. John Randolph ran in much improved form and the firmer field here is evidently more to his liking than was the soft going at Toronto. Sam Parmer tired after going oue turn of the field. Mirabel began quickly and sprinted to the front and set the pace, but tired when the e winner challenged. Sainzilla finished fast after running far back for the first half. Euripides rushed to the front when the start came and set a fast pace for seven furlongs, but had nothing left when the winner challenged. Foxmcad was well in hand for six furlongs and went to the leader with a rush at the furlong post, but tired In the last sixteenth. Racine II. ran well. Moouraker was always outrun.
