Belle of Iroquois, from a flying start, quickly established a good lead and, increasing her advantage as the race progressed, won as her rider pleased. Donna Elvira was in close and game pursuit of the winner throughout and easily second best. Umbrella beat the barrier, and maintained a lucky and forward position all the way, Jbut was a lucky third Irvine, away poorly, closed a big early gap and swerved all over the stretch into a fast going fourth. Rollicking Girl tired In the last quarter, but was a good fifth going well. The Belle of Brighton ran prominently for five furlougs. Wood Rule held a brief lead and then retired into a distant second, where he held forth undisturbed for the remainder of the . journey. Russell Sage finished with a belated end rush. Courier trailed far In the rear for nearly two miles, then moved up fast at the end can do better. C. B. Campbell was never dangerous and ran a bad race. Bonfire dropped to the rear early. RosemOunt, away badly, closed a big gap under an inadequate ride and is a coming good one. Frank Gill, nearly left, made up a tremendous lot of ground. Tourenue, on the Inside and away flatfooted, had no chance. Fantastic was outclassed and shuffled to the rear at the start. Red River showed prominently for half the journey and then quit. Superman, in bad form, was shuttled to the rear at the half and ceased to be a contender. Jacobite ran head and head with the winner throughout and should have won, but was messed about and crowded at the end. Beii Ban, av.ay poorly, closed a big gap and was going like a cyclone at the end and ran a high-class race. Sanfara ran prominently to the stretch, where she wearied as if short. Comedienne was never dangerous and went wide on the last turn. Zleriap, away badly, closed an immense gap. Water Tank finished going fast and close up. Consistent quit early.
