The card of six races, was practically featureless, unless the steeplechase, at about two and a half miles, could be regarded as such. That good jumper, Bery Waddell, captured the race from John Randolph in a sharp drive. Chatelaine was the only one to go down. She fell at the first obstacle, but her rider, Reeves, escaped injury. Most of the finishes were close and hard fought. Only tw favorites rewarded form players, the other wluners being quoted at good odds. Blue Coat beat Fustian, the even money favorite, in the closing race and lowered the track record for three-quarters of a mile, runniug the distance In 1:10. The former record was 1: lot. C. Fox, W. A. Porter, E. A. Chinn, R. F. Miller and W. T. Anderson ship from here to Dallas, Tex.-, and thence to Los Angeles.
