TWENTY LEADING JOCKEYS. Walter Miller needs to ride only nineteen more winners to tie the record set by Hlldebrand In 1004 for the greatest number of winners ridden in any one year. In that year Hlldebrand rode 207 winners. Tlie previous best record was 202 made by C. Reiff In 1S00. In nine months Miller has ridden in 1,035 races. Few jockeys have ridden more than 1,000 races In any one year. In 1S09 Tommy Burns rode 1,064; In 1001 Winnie OCnonor rode 1,047; the following year J. Ranch had 1,000 mounts; in 1004 Hlldebrand was up In 1,160 races and last year W. Knapp rode In 1,021. So Miller has better than an outside chance to set two new marks this year.
