Halifax, away badly and sore,, lacked early speed to get Into serious contention, lost ground on the far turn and then closed up fast unexpectedly at the end. Guiding Star, away poorly, steadily improved his position, finished a close up fifth and is coming on fast. Tileing ran a surprisingly good race after getting away poorly. Big Ben moved up on the far turn, but failed in the stretch. Robin Hood failed to stay after early forward contention. Realm, as easily second birst, ran in nearest pursuit of the winner throughout and finished an easing up second. Sanctus, not fit, out an accomplished fencer, was an easing up third. St. Kevin fenced well and will do better when seasoned. Commodore Fontaine was well up and going easy when he fell at the end of a mile and a half. Common Sue sacrificed second place by a too strenuous pursuit of the pacemaker, but ran a superior race for ner. Glamor, nearly left, closed an immense gap and was yoing like a cyclone at the end. McCarter outbroke his opponents and ran forwardly to the final sixteenth, where he tired badly. Purslane ran forwardly throughout and was closing up very gamely at the end.
