HEFFERNAN TO RIDE FOR MLAUGHLIN. New York, October lO.-James McLaughlin, Jr., has engaged the western lightweight jockey, Heffer-nan, to pilot his horses at Plmllc. Young McLaughlin will take a string made up of horses belonging to his father and other owners to Baltimore. Heffernan is as promising Uttlo chap, hut he must learn to be more alert at the post before he can hope to achieve success in the saddle.
