"BOOTS" DURNELL BUYS NEALON FOR 5,000. Son of Sain Will Be Raced at San Francisco During: the-Coming Winter Meeting. New York, October 31. Barney Schreiber has sold the splendid cup horse Nealoa to C. E. Durnell. The price paid was 5,000. Nealon will bo campaigned at San Francisco during the .coming winter. Immediately after Nenlons narrow defeat by Running Water in the Belmont Park Weight for Age Race of two and one-quarter miles, Octolier"; 20, Andrew Miller, one of the owners of the Newcastle Stable, on the advice of his astute trainer,; Thomas Welch, offered the Missouri breeder 12,000 for the three-year-old son of Sain. Mr. Schreiber held out for a larger sum. Frank Farrell for T. D. Sullivan, E. R. Thomas and J. B. Brady, were all anxious to acquire the best four-year-old prospect of the season and would have paid the price asked, but "Boots" Durnell had In the meantime secured an option and the deal was closed last night.
