ASCOT PARK TO OPEN AS SCHEDULED. Los Angeles, Cal., November 14. George Rose, after a conference with some of the directors of the Los Angeles Jockey Club this morning, announced that the forthcoming meeting at Ascot Park would surely open as scheduled on Thanksgiving Day. Mr. Rose realizes that the victory of the annexationists has placed his track in a bad position, but he does not think the city officials will make any move toward closing the meeting. He thinks that the fact that the track people have been put to great expense In preparing for the meeting and also that the horsemen who are now on the ground have expended large sums In shipping their stables here, will prompt the city officials not to make any adverse action this winter. Mr. Rose leaves tonight for San Francisco and will be back in the course of a week.
