Field Lark began slowly, but moved up resolutely on the turn into the homestretch, caught Belltoone iu the stretch, raced her into subjection and won drawing away. Conjuress was favored by clear sailing, followed the leaders closely, was in keen contention all the way and tired in the final strides. Agnes Virginia closed a big gap from a slow beginning, was probably much the best and, with better racing luck, would have won. Belltoone set a fast pace for five furlongs, then tired. Minnehaha closed a big gap. Toppv Girl showed speed. The others were always outrun. Scratched 65405 Posing, 97; 65475 Lidwina, 107; 65475 Inspector Girl, 106. Won driving: second and . third the same. Gladiator, running to his best form, set a fast pace, raced Sanction into exhaustion in the first mile and had plenty in reserve when challenged by Gamester. The latter began slowly, but wore down the leaders gradually and raced into a contending position after going a mile, then tired slightly in the drive through the stretch. Sanction ran more forwardly than usual, went wide when making the turn into the stretch and tired, but as usual finished resolutely. Dudley wheeled as the barrier went up and unseated his rider. Trenola made up ground. Rebounder tired badly and can do better. Lucky Charm quit all over. Jehane showed early speed. Scratched 65438 Liddon, 105; 65404 Dungaunon, 10. Lady Esther, probably best at the weights, was poorly uiunaged in the early stages and was taken wide on the turn for home. Salyage showed superior early speed, but quit badly under pressure. St. Joseph was weakly handled and failed to show bis usual speed at any stage of the Journey. The latter showed much speed and Improvement, but tired as if short in the run through the stretch. Lady Jocelyn ran under restraint at all stages. Naughty B. fell at the fifth jump. Maverick ran out at the-fourth. Bank Holiday refused to break at the start and was left. Squanderer fell at the water jump. Colloquy broke in her stride and quickly sprinted away from her opponents, opened up a winning lead la the first quarter and was never in danger of defeat. Lady Arion was in forward contention throughout, but could never get to the winner. Morales was closest in pursuit to the stretch, but could not stay at the pace and tired badly in the stretch run. The latter forced a fast pace to the final furlong and appeared all over the winner after entering the stretch. Arabo quit badly after displaying much speed tor seven furlongs. Annie Berry finished gamely, but was in tight quarters all of the final sixteenth. All Brown showed early speed. Water Lake closed a big gap in the last half. The others were always outrun.
