WHY MADDEN WAS NOT A BIDDER. Lexington, Ky., December 1. It was believed that John E. Madden would be a bidder on the dam of Salvidere, but he was not and it is said the reason was he has a full sister to Sallie of Navarre now at Hamburg Place which is a much .younger mare. She She is Saratoga Belle, now six years old, bought at; auction by Madden as a yearling for 1906.sh,000. .Like her celebrated sister, Saratoga Belle was never raced and her first foal, Hazing, by Ogden, now n. two-year-old, has never started. Saratoga Belle had no foal In 10O5, but has a weanling colt by Ogden, now at Hamburg Place. She is one of the mares bred to Yankee this season. Madden also owns a . half sister to Salvideres dam in Frances McClelland. She was a stake winner and the first winner of the produce of the famous mare Sallie McClelland.
