Rather Royal went to the front at the start and won all the way. Gargautua was closest in pursuit, followed the winner closely and easily held second place safe. Joe Fallert, running to his liest form, was in game contention all the way, moved up fast on the far turn and tired slightly in the final strides. Pungent ran a dull race anil can do much better. Bayou Lark was a prominent contender at all stages and finished fast. Fare, off badly, ran well and, with an even start, would have been a serious contender. Carasco showed the most early speed but quit in the final drive. Hostile Hyphen finished gamely. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
