HARM AKIS SETS NEW TRACK RECORD. Runs Mile and an Eighth at Windsor in 1 :53s Peter Sterling Wins Feature. Detroit, -Mich., July 0. The attendance at Windsor twisty v:is lighter than usual, though, the card was one of the best of the meeting. In three of the races the finishes were uncommonly close and exciting. The handicap at a mile and a sixteenth wsis the stellar attraction, and in winning it Peter Sterling furnished the surprise of the day to the layers. In the hardest kind of si drive lie beat Nat B. by a nose, and eijusiled the track record for the distance. The steeplechase went to the favorite. Snowdrift, which won as his rider pleased. In the fifth race Hsirinsikis upset the calculations of the talent and was forced to take two-fifths of a second off the trsick record to win from Imboden. Ho ran the mile ami an eighth in 1:53s.
