MORE ROOM AND LESS RUSHING. New York, July 13. A novel arrangement of the bookmakers in the "field ring" went into effect at Hrighton ISeach Thursday and was highly successful. Instead of arranging the layers in a circle, Ringmaster Cavanagh has placed them in a series of rows, with broad aisles between, so that it is easy for the crowds to get in and out of the pavilion. The field layers say that the new plan enables all of them to get a whack at the business, while the bettors for the -first time were permitted to make their wagers without confusion. The old circular arrangement Is still in vogue in the "big ring," but there may be a change one of these days if the "field plan" continues to be a success.
