HITCHCOCKS CHAMPION JUMPERS. It has never fallen to the lot of another man in this country to have in his barn at the same time two such sterling steeplechasers as Thomas Hitchcock, Jr., has enjoyed In Good and Plenty and Ilylas. Their combined winnings for him foot lip .?SS,430. Of this Good and Plenty has earned 4,905 In four seasons, and Ilylas 3,405 in three seasons. The figures for other great jumpers of the past are not at hand, but in saying that no horse has earned as much as cither of these in this country no great risk is taken. Good and Plenty is a year older than his stableniatc, and his physical condition is not so good, so it is to be presumed that when their careers arc ended Hylas will have earned vastly more money. Good and Plenty is a bay gelding, seven years old, by Itossinglon Famine. He was not raced until his fourth year, and all of Ids racing has been done in Mr. Hitchcocks colors. Ilylas Is a bay gelding, six years old, by Meddler Forget, lie was first owned by AV. C. AVhitney, and raced in his colors as a two-year-old, winning only 00, winch came with his one third out of nine starts. Mr. Hitchcock bought him and schooled him for steeplechasing all the year 1901. The records of their performances up to dale are as follows: GOOD AXD PLENTY. Year. Age. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d. Unpl.
