NOTES OF THE TURF. E. R. Thomas lias presented tiic Brighton Bench Association with a painting of llermis. The painting is tlie work of Henry Stull. New York racing critics say jockey Knapp has lately exhibited timidity when riding in races of more than a half dozen starters. Messrs. Parmer and Ileiidrie have an option on a race track site in Canada, just across the river from Buffalo, liit it is not settled that they will build a new plant. John Orth, who was the partner of James E. Cashing in the ownership of Boundless when that good horse won the American Derby, is now living in Seattle-ami takes great pleasure In exhibiting one of tlie racing plates worn by Boundless on the memorable day in 1S93.
