SARATOGAS STIFF JUMPS. j The steeplechase course at Saratoga has been greatly improved since last season. The course is marked by a beautiful hedge of dwarf cedars and I the last jump Is a new one. It is an extension of the jump in front of the field stand and brings the horses into the Hat for the run home without any of the sharp turns with corners of fences to bring crowding and accidents that are so frequent at the other tracks. The jumps have all been stiffened, and in the opinion of experts the course in this respect now compares with the world-famous course at Aintree, where Englands Grand National is run. Tile Liverpool at which Mr. OBrien got his fall Monday, is live feet two indies in height.
