NO HAVEN FOR FOLKS UNDER BAN. Winn Says All Jockey Club Rulings Will Be Respected at Yonkers. New York. August 1.". Regarding the ejection of "Jiroadway Alex" Smith from the Empire City track Tuesday, Slatt J. Winn, general manager of the track, had this to pay today: "I know nothing officially regarding the Smith case, except that lie was deemed undesirable at Saratoga. If he is not welcome at the Saratoga track, he is not welcome here. The fact that the ruling was a local one and ordinarily might not have been effective except at the track where the ruling was made, and during tiie meeting in progress at the time, docs not help Sir. Smith in the least. As we are working entirely in harmony with the Jockey Club and respect the rulings of the powers that be at Saratoga, there was nothing left for us io do but take the action we did in the case of Smith. "In this connection I wish to say that any jockey who is set down at Saratoga cannot ride at Empire City during the period he is under disfavor there. We expect the Saratoga management to assume the same attitude with regard to rulings made at Empire City. "This applies not only to jockeys and trainers, but to any one who may be disciplined for Cause. I presume our attitude is pretty well understood, but lest there should be any doubt as to just how we stand, I consider the public should have this statement from the track management."
