NO FALL STAKES AT LATONIA. Cincinnati, O., August 15. The Latonia Jockey Club management has decided not to open any stakes for the fall meeting, as the time is too short. One thousand dollar handicaps will be put on instead. There Is a chance that Joseph A. Slurphy may be back in the judges stand at Latonia. He was asked to take the job of presiding judge In the spring, but his engagement at Kenllworth prevented that. At present he is in the stewards stand at Empire 1 City.
