HIGH AVERAGE FOR GET OF MEDDLER. Fourteen Yearlings Bring 1,400 Mackay Reserves Won-By-Waiting Colt. New York, September 5. Fourteen yearlings from Clarence H. Maekays Kingston Stud, eleven of them by his great stallion Meddler, brought 1,400 at auction in the Faslg-TIpton Companys paddocks at Sheepshead Bay today. Bidding was of tiie keenest description, and the prices ruled the highest of the season. It was the most successful sale of the year, in fact. . ! I ii i The bay colt by ClieddTCr "Wba-By-Walting, the star of the sale, reverted back to his owner, the reserve price of 3,000 not having been reached. J. E. Widener bid as high as 13,000 for him.
