f i a 1 l l , , , , . j FORMAM IS SHARPLY DISCIPLINED. Hamilton Stewards Punish Him for Scandal Over Wabash Queen. Hamilton, Out.. September 30. The stewards had a busy session this afternoon. Tiiere were lot of nasty stories connected with the race which Wabash Queen had won on Saturday. According to the story which was going around Wabash Queen fieoplc were supposed to have had a bookmaker bet on Fiat for them, and that the two books in the ring controlled by tlris party laid against Wabash Queen and lost heavily. There was so much talk over the case that the stewards decided that it -.vould lie best to deny the privileges of the course to G. W. Korman on the score of offensive touting, and lie was instructed not to make any more entries here. Secretary Loudon provided an excellent progra.i! litis afternoon and offered as the star attractions a handicap at one mile and a furlong a stei plecuase over the short course anJ a race for hunters on the Hat. which called for gentlemen riders. The fields in a majority of the events were evenly matched and in several others of the -races the winners were, in doubt until the otlicial placing was displayed. In the opening event the first four horses finished noses apart with the favorite Tom Shaw scoring a lucky victory. Konltes margin over Guarda in the second race was a matter of inches. The judges could have given the race to either horse without c.miplaint from, those in the grandstand. Favorites won three races, the successful choices being Tom Shaw. Tlioiuond ami Eonite. In the mile and a furlong handicap the Ascot Derby winner. Colonel Jack, showed a retiiMi to his best form by running a smashing good race and winning by a length and a half from Glimmer. The latter was in receipt of eighteen pounds from the winner. Masnaila. the Italian ex-gen I leinaii jockey, put up another brilliant ride in todays steeplechase, which he won with John Dillon. " He carried the favorite, Kara, along at a rapid pace and after the first turn of the field took the lead and retained it to the finish. Schlesinger, an apprentice jockey, arrived here from Latonia this morning and will remain for the Hamilton and Windsor meetings. Jockev F. Burton leaves for Windsor tonight. The horses owned by his father. M. Burton, will also lie shipped away tonight. The horses which Fred Luzader is handling- for J. K. Wninwriglit and K. B. Stelle were shipped to Latonia this morning. At the conclusion of the Churchill Downs meeting Wainw rights -lot will-hoi.shippedto. Sa -lirau-Cisco, while Stelles string "Will go to "New Orleans. Before leaving Stelle disposed of Kolla to George Withers, who will school him through -the field and. if he takes kindly to the game. Hollas future racing will be as a steeplechaser. Jockey Goldstein left for New York to ride for the Seagram stable. C. E. Mahone, James McLaughlin. Jr., and Joseph McLennan leave for Windsor Thursday. jd. L. Haynian arrived from New York tonight to arrange with James Boden, Jr., for the shipment of his horses to Baltimore. At the conclusion of the latter meeting the entire lot. wliich numbers thirty, will be sent to San Francisco.
