Tom Shaw broke with the leaders, but dropped back in the first sixteenth, but drew up with a rush on the far turn and, wearing Emma G. down in the last sixteenth, outgamed her in the final drive. Sudonnan, messed about all the way, finished with a game stretch run on the Inside in deep going and would have won in another stride. Emma G. set a fast early pace, but was bumped into a couple of times by the winner in the last sixteenth and tired. Oroba dropped far back in the early stages and came with :i great burst of speed through the last furlong. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Glimmer made a wide turn when entering the homestretch, but finished fast under punishment and outgamed The Englishman.
