EASTERNERS SCORE AT HAMILTON. Hamilton. Out.. October 1. The eastern delegation had their inning at Hamilton this afternoon, three of the winners coming from the stables of New York horsemen. All three, Ormondes Itlght. Prospero and Sam Kernard found strong support from their people, and, this meant that a small- sized killing was made en the days speculations. There was a big improvement in track conditions, the going being good for the first few races, and as the afternoon progressed the track kept getting faster. The attendance was large, and speculation brisk. A steeplechase over the two-mile course, and a seven-furlong handicap for all ages, were provided as features, the balance of the card being made up of a series of cheap selling races in which ordinary fields were entered. Cooney K., which had developed into one of the most consistent horses racing here, captured the .feature race, which he won by a head from Avaun-teer after a great stretch drive. The speedy Botanist forced a very fast pace for six furlongs, and in the final drive hung on longer than usual. Jockeys J. Foley and J. Murphy each rode two winners. The stewards are still investigating the running of the mare, AAabush Queen, and some further rulings in the case may be made within the next few days. Jockey Sobell arrived from Latonia this morning, and will ride for the stable owned by C. J. Murray for the balance of the meeting. Edward Trotter will ship his stable to AVindsor Friday, and at the conclusion of the meeting will go direct to San Francisco.
