Ormondes Right broke from the extreme outside and collided with Alpenmarchcn just when the barrier was sprung, then closed a big gap and, finishing with a great burst of speed, won going away. Rather Royal was cut off on the first turn and wore Hawkama down after entering the homestretch, but h:d nothing left to stall oft the winners challenge. Hawkama was much used in setting the early pace with Alpenmarchen and tired in the final drive. Alpenmarchen showed speed, but failed to stay. Chief Desmond, carried wide on every turn by the leaders, came fast when straightened out for the stretch run and, wearing Eouite down in the last sixteenth, outstayed him in the final drive. Eonite dashed to the front in the first sixteenth and set a fast pace, but swerved to the inside in deep going in the last furlong. Saltram closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Padrone was on the inside all the way in deep going and ran a capital race. Mainaroneck showed speed, but failed to stsy. The winner was entered for SS00; no bid. Scratched 71171 Oroba, 104. Billy Ray trailed along in the rear until in the last quarter, then finished fast. Coal Black Lady showed extreme speed for one turn of the field, then quit. Banyah ran poorly. Bye Bye II. closed a big gap. St. Jeanne and Kiamesha II. showed speed. Webber ran well, but lost ground when entering the homestretch, where he made a wide turn. Frank Collins finished close up. Orpen showed speed, but failed to stay. Nettie Carita came through on the inside on the turn for home and finished with a rush. Salvage showed speed, but quit in the last furlong. No Trumpor showed early speed.
