Royal Queen, showing sudden improvement, cut sharply across in front of the others after going a furlong and, taking a long lead on the first turn, was never seriously threatened thereafter. Lady Martha put up a good performance and showed a high flight of speed, but was not good enough today. Dr. Sim-rall, away fast, was restrained early, but when he attempted to move into contention was sharply impeded, hving much ground, but linished witli a rush when clear and was going gamely at the end. Albert Fans dosed a big gap from a slow beginning and ran a good race. Demonstrate put up a good performance and Is showing steady improvement. Bender showed a brief flash of speed. Jim Simpson, wellvridden, was sent into .1 contending position 011 the lirst turn and, forcing a stiff pace, raced Warner Griswell into subjection in the lirst three-quarters and easily came away in the stretch. Wanier Griswell. although tiring fast in the last quarter, ran a good race, held on well and finished gainelj. Kemp Ridgeley closed a big gap and was going fast in the last quarter. Ingenue, poorly ridden, was shuffled back after going three-quarters and then came again. KaiserholT was prominent for three-quarters. Royal Bond ran as if short and will improve. Couvolo, hard ridden all the way, had no mishaps and wits not good enough. Miss Strome, much the best, was taken wide all the way and would have won off by herself witli intelligent riding. Usury showed much speed, but tired badly in the last furlong. Toddles tried to bolt at the start, showed a high flight of speed in racing in the lead for the first three-quarters, but her effort told badly in the final quarter. Bottles ran fairly well. Donna Elvira, showing improved, form, was a prominent contender for the entire trip and appeared the probable winner on the stf jtch turn, but tired near the end. Deutschland, away fast, showed superior early speed, but tired in the stretch as if still short. Fantastic had no mishaps and tired after going five furlongs. Alike Sutton can do much better. Charlatan had no mishaps and put up a good performance. Henry O. was badly outpaced foi the first three-quarters and had to go wide into the stretch, but finished well -and was a lucky third. Belleview tired fast after showing much speed for a mile. Blaze oLight, poorly ridden, ran fairly well. King of the Valley was prominent for three-quarters and will improve. The winner was entered, for 1,000; no bid. Overweights Filler, 3 pounds; Blaze oLight, 1.
