Berwick outbroke the others and won all the way with no serious opposition until too late and displayed marked and sudden improvement under a good ride. Momentum, nearly left, steadily improved Ills position on the outside and loomed up menacingly midway of the stretcli. but tired finally. Troublemaker bloke slowly and worked through close quarters into a fast going third. George S. Davis improved his Pitiun rapidlv from a poor start and is very good. Toy Boy, away second, ran in close pursuit of the winner to the" stretch, where he tired badly. The Wrestler was prominent for five furlongs. Belle of Iroquois, nearly left, closed a big gap. Roalta, shuttled to the rear early, finished well. The winner was entered for 1,400: no bid. Good Luck led for the first half and was then taken back and reserved in behind Red Friar to the far turn, from where he drew out and finally -won otT. Killiecrankie, shuttled back at the start, closed up rapidly in the last mile into a fast going second and is in good form. Beauclcre, away slowly, dropped to the rear and trailed under a bad ride, then came with a belated rush and ran a cracking race. Red Friar, after being injudiciously prominent in setting the pace, dropped out in the last furlong. J. F. Donohue. piHrly ridden, was well up for a mile, then tired and was beaten off. Lancastrian was unlit to start and very sore and heavily bandaged on all four legs. The winner was entered for 1,500; no bid. Sewell regained his speed suddenly, improved his position rapidly and made good at the end without trouble. Bat Masterson broke slowly, but dashed through into a forward position quickly and drew out into a clear lead ou the far turn, then succumbed finally. Ben Ban, always within striking distance, tired unexpectedly in the closing drive. Jacobite drew out on the backstretch and disposed of Oraculum. but succumbed shortly ftfierwards to Bat Masterson, then finished close up and was not equal to the task at the weights. Suffrage, away slowly, pocketed and pulling up frequently, never had a chance and ran a comparatively poor race, but was given a worse ride. Brookdale Nymph was never dangerous and ran a bad race.
